Limestone Inaugurates App to Tackle Nigerian Communities’ Security Concerns

Limestone, a Nigerian technology firm has launched StoneCircle, a mobile safety app designed to enhance community security and emergency response across the country. Ifeanyi Aneke, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Limestone, said this during the official launch of the StoneCircle app in Lagos on Wednesday. Aneke said the solution was developed to address Nigeria’s growing security and safety challenges by equipping individuals and communities with digital tools to connect with trusted contacts during emergencies. “StoneCircle provides instant panic alerts, live tracking and real-time coordination between family members, neighbours and co-workers when safety is threatened,” he said. He explained that the app also supported residents in gated communities by enabling them to pay dues, manage access codes and log complaints through a single interface. According to him, pilot tests in selected estates processed over ₦27 million in digital transactions, achieving a 95 per cent success rate and an average panic response time of three seconds. Aneke, who is also a former Microsoft technology specialist, said Limestone was established three years ago to bridge operational gaps in real estate and community management. “Before starting this company, I observed how fragmented estate operations were from dues collection to security coordination. That experience inspired our technological response,” he said. The managing director said that Limestone has now expanded its ecosystem to include StoneCircle, Stone Community, and Stone Security, creating a unified platform that integrates personal safety, estate management and institutional protection. He added that the company was developing a wearable panic keychain that would allow users to trigger distress alerts hands-free, even when phones are inaccessible. Aneke reaffirmed Limestone’s commitment to privacy and data protection, noting that the firm was fully licensed under the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) and compliant with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA). “All user data is encrypted in transit and at rest, while chats and communications are end-to-end encrypted. Our systems also undergo periodic third-party security testing,” he said. He added that StoneCircle extended beyond gated estates to include individuals, families, and businesses seeking accessible safety solutions. “Everyone deserves access to reliable digital security. StoneCircle is redefining how communities protect lives and properties through technology,” Aneke said. By Honesty Victor | From The Moment
